Description

PCT Patent Process Handbook - 3rd edition (2012)

This 3rd Edition (2012) has the most important PCT forms and PCT changes!

Our two-volume handbook on The PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) Process) for patent secretaries/paralegals and patent attorneys/agents consists of a total of about 300+ pages. Volume 1 describes the process in detail from the beginning to the end and includes important Definitions and Summary Blasts each step of the way. Volume 2 includes forms to and from the PCT Office. This handbook on the PCT Process explains not only what is to be done throughout the process but why it is being done.

Volume 1 moves through the entire Patent Cooperation Treaty Process starting with a broad overview based on a fictitious invention (the "KickBack" putter), fictitious inventor (Arnold Plummer), and a fictitious Assignee (PuttRite, Inc.). In this overview, the proper terminology is provided and the components of the PCT process are laid out, along with the timing. Thereafter, Chapter I of the PCT, the REQUEST including the actual Search request ( U.S. vs. the EPO), and Chapter II, the DEMAND are discussed in more detail.

Once this groundwork has been laid, the REQUEST is dissected element by element starting with the necessary requirements in order to obtain a filing date. From there the Handbook proceeds to Life After Chapter I and before Chapter II, that is, the prosecution of the PCT application including handling formalities and dealing with the Search Report. Thereafter, the DEMAND is discussed in the same detail.
